Narrative Stream
SV-047

My own work in this style: Centralize. Decentralize. Repeat.
In plain words
One continuous flowing stream of coloured bands running across the page over time, with labels and notes written directly inside the curves instead of in a legend. The ground is a muted rose or cream and each band gets one strong colour. The style is the single unbroken stream acting as the spine of the whole layout.
Topics it fits
- Budget allocation over timethe single stream shows how spend shifts between categories year by year in one continuous shape
- Portfolio mix for the boardlabels sitting on the bands let executives read the mix without hunting through a legend
- Roadmap delivery historyannotations placed inside the flow tie each change to the moment it happened
- Risk mix trendsone strong colour per risk band makes a growing exposure visibly swell in the stream
Art style and layout
- core locked [single_continuous_stream, annotations_inside_the_flow, one_saturated_accent_per_category, muted_editorial_ground]
- palette muted rose/cream ground, one saturated accent per stream band
- composition the stream IS the layout - everything else (labels, asides, callouts) is placed into its curves, never in a sidebar
What must stay, what may change
subject - any longitudinal composition question (genres, budgets, moods over time); the stream-as-spine stays
